Burlington y Perenco remplazan a ChevronTexaco en el Bloque 23 (18 de Abril 2003)

ChevronTexaco ha vendido sus intereses en el Bloque 23 a Burlington, y Burlington ha alquilado la mitad de su parte a Perenco, una petrolera Europea con sedes en Londres, París y Bahamas. CGC continua con su parte de 50% y es la operadora del bloque. Las grandes compañias continuan vendiendo y comprando nuestra tierra entre ellas, sin ni siquiera informarnos. Pero en todo caso no permitiremos que saquen ni una gota de petróleo de la tierra que nuestros antepasados nos dejaron.

Agradecemos a todos ustedes quienes han escrito cartas de protesta a ChevronTexaco, y les rogamos que sigan presionando, mandando cartas de protesta a CGC, Burlington y Perenco, tanto como al Gobierno Ecuatoriano.

Burlington and Perenco replace ChevronTexaco in Block 23 (April 18, 2003)

ChevronTexaco has sold its holdings in Block 23 to Burlington and Burlington has leased out half of its share to Perenco, a European petrol company with headquarters in London, Paris and Bahamas. CGC continues with its 50% share and is the operator of the block. The big companies continue to sell and buy our land among themselves, without even bothering to inform us. But in any case, we will not allow them to take out one drop of petrol from the land we inherited from our ancestors.

We thank all of you who have written protest letters to ChevronTexaco, and we ask you to keep up the pressure, continuing to send protest letters to CGC, Burlington and Perenco, as well as to the Ecuadorian goverment.
