Sarayacu construye "Campamentos de Paz y Vida" para expulsar a la petrolera. Solicita la presencia de Usted como Observador Internacional de Paz. (12 de enero 2003)

De nuevo, la petrolera CGC/ChevronTexaco ha incursionado en territorio de Sarayacu. Hay un orden judicial de no entrar en territorio de Sarayacu mientras el juicio que Sarayacu ha planteado contra CGC/ChevronTexaco sea solucionado. CGC/ChevronTexaco también ha declarado que va a respetar el territorio de Sarayacu. Pero recién el Sr. Ricardo Nicolás de CGC/ChevronTexaco acaba de aclarar que únicamente va a respetar un pedazito de tierra alrededor de la plaza central de la comunidad. Es decir en los restantes 90% del territorio de Sarayacu, la CGC/ChevronTexaco va a realizar la sísmica a la fuerza. Hoy día setenta y cinco hombres y mujeres se están trasladando desde el pueblo de Sarayacu río abajo a los sitios donde la petrolera ha ingresado, para ahí establecer "Campos de Paz y Vida" y, de manera pacífica, expulsar a la petrolera. Por lo tanto, estamos pidiendo apoyo:

- La presencia de Observadores Internacionales en los Campamientos de Paz y de Vida.
- Difundir la información por Internet, radios, periódicos...
- Seguir presionando por medio de peticiones al gobierno, ministerios, compañía...
- Ayuda económica para
                Transporte aéreo y fluvial.
                Alimentación de los grupos de campamiento.
                Gastos jurídicos
                Difusión en los medios de comunicación local, nacionales e internacionales

Again, the petrol consortium CGC/ChevronTexaco has encroached on Sarayacu territory. There is a judicial order not to enter Sarayacu until the lawsuit Sarayacu has put against CGC/ChevronTexaco is solved. CGC/ChevronTexaco also has declared that it will respect Sarayacu territory. However, recently Mr. Ricardo Nicolás of CGC/ChevronTexaco has explained that they only will respect a small piece of land around the central plaza of the community. That is, on the other 90% of the Sarayacu territory, CGC/ChevronTexaco will do the seismic works by force.

Today seventyfive men and women are transporting themselves downriver to the sites where the petrol crews have entered, in order to establish "Camps for Peace and Life" and, peacefully, expell the petrol company.
