Sarayacu.- La anunciada presencia del ministro de Energía y Minas, coronel Carlos Arboleda, el próximo miércoles 22 de octubre, pretende avivar conflictos intercomunitarios, que facilitarían tanto la entrada de militares como la tarea de exploración sísmica de la petrolera Argentina Compañía General de Combustibles (CGC).
“En las reuniones mantenidas con el gobierno en marzo pasado, el ministro Arboleda fue enfático en minimizar el reclamo de Sarayacu, sobre la base de desconocer la posesión legítima que tiene sobre las 135 mil hectáreas que fueron legalizadas en 1992, y en las que han vivido cientos de años, aunque en realidad tenemos un título que lo compartimos con la Asociación Boberas, cuyos territorios llegan también a bordear las 120 mil hectáreas más.”, dijo Marlon Santi, presidente de Sarayacu. “Arboleda y sus argumentos, pretenden confundir a la opinión pública y al pueblo ecuatoriano, designando a nuestro pueblo Kichwa de Sarayacu, simplemente como un caserío o una comunidad. Queremos ser enfáticos. Somos parte del pueblo Kichwa de Pastaza, y tenemos nuestras autoridades legítimas propias, y nuestro territorio, heredado de nuestros mayores comprende como límites al norte, el río Conambo y la comunidad de Moretecocha, al Sur, el territorio Achuar, al oeste, las tierras de la Asociación PaKayaku y al Este, Boberas, en la parte baja de la cuenca del río Bobonaza”, añadió Santi.
Por su parte, el Consejo de Gobierno de Sarayacu mediante un análisis manifestaron que “el manejo de la información que el gobierno hace, obedece a estrategias planificadas meticulosamente por las empresas asesoras contratadas por CGC y por intervención directa de la inteligencia militar. Sin duda, de lo que se trata es de aislar a Sarayacu, criminalizar la protesta a través del amedrentamiento, pues en estos días, el Juez Primero de lo Penal de Puyo, acaba de emitir nuevas órdenes de prisión ya no solo contra dirigentes, sino incluso contra compañeros que fueron golpeados y torturados. Quieren provocar confusión, temor en base a la amenaza. Y claro, la presencia de Arboleda la rechazamos rotundamente y la repudiamos, pues viene a ratificar la presencia de la prepotencia, el abuso y el irrespeto hacia nuestro pueblo. Y le decimos, que no le tenemos miedo, y que nos tiene sin cuidado sus amenazas. El antipatriota es él, al estar como un simple sirviente al servicio de las petroleras extranjeras”.

"Arboleda and his arguments attempt to confuse the public opinion and the Ecuadorian people, designating our people as just a hamlet or a village. We wish to be emphatic. We form part of the Kichwa people of Pastaza, and we have our own legitimate authorities. Our territory, inherited from our ancestors, comprise as limits to the north the Conambo river and the community Moretecocha, to the south the Achuar territory, to the west the lands of the Pakayaku association, and to the east Boberas in the lower part of the Bobonaza river basin", added Santi.
For its part, the Government Council of Sarayacu, by means of an analysis stated that "the management of information on part of the government obeys to strategies meticulously planned by the consultant firms contracted by CGC and by direct intervention of the military intelligence service. Without doubt, it is about isolating Sarayacu, criminalizing the protest by means of intimidation, as these days the First Judge of Puyo has passed new arrest warrants, not only against our community leaders, but also against our fellows who got beaten and tortured. They want to provoke confusion and fear by means of threats. And, of course, we categorically reject and repudiate the presence of Arboleda, because he comes to ratify the presence of dominance, abuse and disrespect against our people. And we tell him that we are not afraid, and we do not care about his threats. He is the unpatriotic one, being a simple servant at the service of the foreign petrol companies."
